WOE TO ME / ISAIAH 6:5

(KJV) Isaiah 6:5

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

WOE TO ME / ISAIAH 6:5

In full view of God’s holiness, Isaiah instantly realized his own sinfulness, uncleanness and unworthiness, especially in speaking for God and delivering His message to others (James 3:1-6). He also suddenly realized the fearful consequences that could have resulted from seeing God face to face (Exodus 33:20). But instead of allowing His humble servant to be destroyed, God purified Isaiah’s mouth and heart (Leviticus 16:12; Jeremiah 1:9), making him fit to remain in God’s presence and serve as His prophet. All who want to experience God’s powerful presence and serve His highest purposes must have their sins forgiven and their hearts cleansed by God’s Holy Spirit (Hebrews 10:19-22). Only God can truly purify us and make us worthy to fulfill His perfect plans.
