(KJV) Numbers 8:11
And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord.
LEVITES … AS A WAVE OFFERING / NUMBERS 8:11
The “wave offering” was the priests’ portion of the fellowship offering brought by the people (Leviticus 7:28-34). It was waved, or lifted up, toward the offeror or priest, so all could understand that God was accepting the offering of each person for service. In this passage, the Levites themselves are the wave offering to God. They are the symbol of holy things set aside for God’s use.
