Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings.

Bread made with yeast could be presented with the fellowship offering because the offering was not placed on the altar (Leviticus 2:11). In other offerings, yeast was forbidden because it often symbolized corruption.
