The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD / PSALMS 19:1
The Judeo-Christian view (the shared traditions and beliefs of Jews and Christians) is that the physical world declares, or reflects, God’s glory and creative power (Psalms 148:3-5; Romans 1:18-20). In contrast, the view of many people in the world is that the creation itself is “god” or a divine entity (Deuteronomy 4:19; 2 Kings 23:5). This worldly belief claims that “mother nature” is the source of life and that unseen forces in nature or the universe control human destiny (Isaiah 47:13). Another group believes that creation came about by chance, or that it just happened with no creator causing it. God’s true followers reject these views and accept the Biblical account of the origin of the universe and humankind. This belief inspires them to praise their Maker (Psalms 89:5-8).
