HEARD FROM THE BEGINNING / 1 JOHN 2:24

(KJV) 1 John 2:24

 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

Believers will remain in a right relationship with Christ and experience complete spiritual salvation only as long as they remain devoted to Christ and to the teaching of those He commissioned to deliver His original message as we have it in His Word – the Bible (Ephesians 2:20). This suggests two things:

1. To abandon the original message of Christ and New Testament faith causes spiritual death and separates a person from Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:6-8; 5:1-4). For believers to be loyal to Christ, they must be loyal to His Word and live by the teachings of the New Testament. 
2. It is dangerous to follow teachings or teachers who preach “new” things not found in God’s Word (Jude 1:3). For this reason, it is important to study God’s Word for oneself and to hold firmly to its teaching; our very souls and our eternal destinies depend on it.

13. CONFESS OUR SINS / 1 JOHN 1:9
14. IF WE CLAIM TO BE WITHOUT SIN / 1 JOHN 1:8
15. WALK IN THE LIGHT / 1 JOHN 1:7
16. FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM / 1 JOHN 1:6
17. FELLOWSHIP WITH US / 1 JOHN 1:3
18. ETERNAL LIFE / 1 JOHN 1:2
19. THAT WHICH WAS FROM THE BEGINNING – SEEN WITH OUR EYS OUR HAND HAVE TOUCHED / 1 JOHN 1:1
20. UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE EVIL ONE / 1 JOHN 5:19
21. SIN THAT DOES NOT LEAD TO DEATH / 1 JOHN 5:17

33. THE DEVIL / 1 JOHN 3:8
34. ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL / 1 JOHN 5:14
