(KJV) 1 John 2:19

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

When the “antichrists” left the church congregations because they really had nothing in common with true believers (1 John 1:3), they certainly were not in a saving relationship with Christ. This allows for two possibilities:

1. They were never true followers of Christ to begin with.
2. They had once been in a saving relationship with Christ but later had abandoned their faith in Him.

17. UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE EVIL ONE / 1 JOHN 5:19
18. SIN THAT DOES NOT LEAD TO DEATH / 1 JOHN 5:17
19. HE SHOULD PRAY AND GOD WILL GIVE HIM LIFE; 1 JOHN 5:16
20. THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE / 1 JOHN5:13
