(KJV) Zechariah 9:13

When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.

Greece rose to be the strongest and most influential power of the world in 480-479 B.C., when the Greeks defeated Xerxes of Persia. God would bring defeat to the Greeks as well. This prophecy was fulfilled in the defeat of Antiochus Epiphanes around 168 B.C. God accomplished this overthrow as a warrior Himself who used Judah as His bow and Ephraim (Israel) as arrows. The sons of Zion likely referred to the Maccabees (a rural family of priests who resisted Greek influence and won a series of military victories, giving the region of Judah renewed political and national power between the period of the Old Testament and New Testament. They attacked the sons of Greece, likely referring to the Seleucids of Syria (one of the four main portions of the empire of Alexander the Great that was divided among his generals following his death, Daniel 7:3).
