SERMON ON THE MONT / MATTHEW 5-7
Matthew 5-7, commonly called Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, contains a powerful yet practical revelation of the principles and standards by which God expects all Christians to live. Of course, living up to these standards is possible only through faith in Jesus, the Son of God (Galatians 2:20), and through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:2-14; Galatians 5:16-25). In this message, Jesus teaches a large group of potential followers what it really means to follow Him and be a part of God’s kingdom. All who belong to the kingdom are to demonstrate godly character and have an intense hunger and thirst for righteousness (to do what is right and maintain a right relationship with God, Matthew 5:6).
