SOLID GOLD LAMPSTAND / ZECHARIAH 4:2

(KJV) Zechariah 4:1-2

And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep. ² And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

This is an olive oil lampstand. It had seven lights, all on the same level, arranged around or set under a bowl containing the oil. Oil flowed from the bowl through “the seven channels to the lights” to keep the lamps full and burning. The text also could be interpreted that each of the seven lights had seen channels or lips with a wick (giving a total of forty nine lights in all). Either way, the bowl of oil symbolized God’s endless and unlimited power through the Holy Spirit (the use of the number “seven” represents fullness or completeness). The multiple lamps represent God’s people spreading His light to the world because of the abundant flow of the Holy Spirit’s power in their lives.
