SLAVES / TITUS 2:9-10

Paul does not condone or encourage slavery, but neither does he authorize rebellion against masters. He simply instructs slaves who are Christians to live in a way that honors Christ and to serve as if they are working for Jesus (Colossians 3:22; Colossians 3:23). By doing so, he attempts to change this situation from within (Philemon 1:12; Philemon 1:16). In the meantime, he encourages slaves to let their conduct and integrity provide an example that might influence those they serve to accept Christ.
