(KJV) Numbers 14:6-7
And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: 7Â And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

Both Joshua and Caleb opposed the majority opinion of the spies (Numbers 13:25-33). Joshua and Caleb based their report on a firm commitment to God and a full confidence in His promises to Israel. They refused to accept the overwhelming decision of God’s people – even at the risk of losing their own lives (Numbers 14:6-10). This major event in Israel’s desert journey teaches us that we must not assume that the majority opinion, even of the church, is always right. Faithful believers must be willing to stand on God’s Word even if the majority is against them (2 Timothy 1:15).
