JESUS CHRIST HAS COME IN THE FLESH / 1 JOHN 4:2

(KJV) 1 John 4:2

 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

Some of the false teachers John warns against in this letter taught that Jesus was never really a flesh-and-blood man; and that if He was, He certainly was not the Christ (the Messiah and Savior sent from God; 1 John 1:1). Religious cults, and even some Bible scholars today, expose themselves as “antichrist” (1 John 4:3) when they deny that Jesus is fully god and fully man (John 1:1), that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23) or that His death and resurrection provided the way for forgiveness and spiritual salvation (1 John 4:9-10; 2:2). Every belief and teaching that contradicts or denies any part of the Bible’s revelation about Christ becomes questionable as being influenced by demonic “spirits” of deception (1 John 4:1) because it sets aside the authority and complete trustworthiness of God’s Word (2 Peter 1:3; Galatians 1:9).
