ISRAEL OF GOD / GALATIANS 6:16

(KJV) Galatians 6:16

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

This term refers to all God’s people under the new covenant (God’s plan of spiritual salvation and a renewed relationship with people through the life and sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ). This includes both Jews and Gentiles (people of all nations who are not Israelite or Jewish) who are true followers of Christ. All people who through faith in “the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” are crucified to the world (Galatians 6:14) and have become a “new creation” (Galatians 6:15) are part of the true “Israel of God” (Romans 2:28-29; 9:7-8; Ephesians 2:14-22; Philippians 3:3; 1 Peter 2:9).
