(KJV) Nahum 2:11-12
Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid? 12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
THE LIONS’ DEN / NAHUM 2:11-12
The Assyrians had unmercifully attacked, robbed and totally destroyed other nations, much like lions that kill and tear apart their prey. The Assyrians showed no compassion or mercy for the people. Now they would be attacked, conquered and killed without mercy (Nahum 2:10). Jesus teaches His followers about this principle when He said, “all who draw the sword will die by the sword” (Matthew 26:52; Revelation 13:10).
